Our review methodology
Every company on ReviewCubicle is scored against the same five-pillar rubric. We do not accept payment for placement, and rankings can change year to year.
Licensing & compliance (25%)
We verify every company's state and municipal licenses before they're eligible for ranking. Security firms must show valid BSIS credentials. Movers must show CPUC and DOT numbers. HVAC must show CSLB. No license, no listing.
Response & reliability (25%)
We call each provider three times — once as a routine prospect, once with an urgent request, and once after hours — and time their response. Companies that ghost don't make the cut.
Customer service (20%)
We interview at least three real customers per company, sourced independently of the provider. We ask about communication, problem resolution, and whether they'd hire again.
Pricing transparency (15%)
We collect at least two written quotes per provider and audit them for hidden fees, fuel surcharges, contract auto-renewals, and bait-and-switch tactics.
Client retention (15%)
Where available, we ask providers for retention data and cross-check against client interviews. High churn is a red flag we take seriously.
